Mogadishu, Somalia – 21 July 2026 : The Center for Media and Technology (CMT) has launched a Media Literacy training program titled “Media Literacy for Students in a Digital Age” for students of the Faculty of Languages at Somali National University (SNU). The training is part of CMT’s Digital for Development initiative and aims to strengthen students’ media and information literacy skills.
The opening session was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Languages, who officially opened the training. During the event, the Dean thanked the organizers and the facilitator for delivering the program. He also encouraged students to make productive use of their university holiday by developing practical skills that will benefit their academic and professional lives.
The Dean emphasized the importance of Media Literacy at a time when information and data are widely available, noting that students need the knowledge and critical thinking skills to evaluate and use information responsibly.
The training was facilitated by Mr. Mohamed Sudi Gure, Founder and Managing Director of the Center for Media and Technology (CMT). The program focuses on equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to navigate today’s digital information environment.
